Members borrowed more in January compared to last year

Jan 23 loans

During the month of January, Harp and Crown Credit Union members borrowed £420,000.  That’s a 45% increase from January 2022.  January is always a difficult month for many but the ongoing cost of living crisis has added further pressure on both finances and mental health.

Our recent survey showed that 13% of members surveyed said their reason for borrowing was for Debt Consolidation.  We are seeing so much high interest loan and credit card debt and we want to help our members before this becomes a bigger problem for them.

We offer safe, secure and flexible financial services to the wider police family in Northern Ireland.  Through ethical borrowing, we offer our members lower cost loans and flexible, affordable repayment plans.

More detail on our lower interest loans can be found here.
