Christians Against Poverty Donation

Daphne Caldwell, Harp and Crown Credit Union, presents a £1000 donation to James Myles, Centre Manager (Belfast Central) Christians Against Poverty.

Harp and Crown Credit Union donate £1,000 to CAP – Christian’s Against Poverty, a debt management charity, committed to tackling the causes of poverty across the UK.

Harp and Crown Credit Union are donating to two local divisions of the CAP network – Willowfield Parish Community Association in East Belfast (£500) and Belfast Finaghy Debt Centre in Lowe Church (£500).

Harp and Crown Credit Union Director, Daphne Caldwell said; “We are delighted to support Christian’s Against Poverty in Northern Ireland, in their mission to provide free debt help to those in need. We feel this is so important given the cost-of-living crisis and the debt issues many of our own credit union members could potentially face in the future.”

James Myles, Centre Manager (Belfast Central) Christians Against Poverty said: “Thank you to Harp and Crown Credit Union, this money is very timely as with the cost-of-living crisis.  We are seeing an increase in demand for our services, especially from the vulnerable and marginalised.”

Nan Hill, Centre Manager (Belfast Finaghy Debt Centre) Christians Against Poverty added: “We are very grateful for the £500 received for CAP work in our area.  We are currently running a Christians Against Poverty Life Skills course and using some of the money for this.  This eight-week course helps lift the pressure on life and finances and is most pertinent as we go through the cost-of-living crisis.”
