inflation falling

Inflation, the rate at which prices rise over time, has been slowly falling. In October 2022 the UK hit its highest rate in 40 years at 11.1%.

In 2023 the UK's inflation rate fell between 7% and 5%. The inflation rate as of 20th March had decreased again to 3.4% and is expected to continue to decrease throughout 2024.

What does this mean for HACCU members?

  • Mortgage repayments may become more manageable as Bank of England interest rates decrease.

  • Real wages will rise. This means workers will gain improved purchasing power. Saving some extra money on goods and services.  So why not add these extra savings into your Harp and Crown CU account?

  • On top of this you don’t have to worry about rapid price increases!

However, the cost of living is still more expensive than it was a year ago.  And borrowing money has become more expensive in general eg car finance.

We offer lower interest rate loans. Our lowest interest rate being our Loyal Saver loan at 3.9% as well as a First Time Loan rate of 5.5%.  PLUS you’ve peace of mind we have your back with FREE LIFE COVER up to age 70.
